A Saudi national shot dead on Thursday in a raid by security forces was on a wanted list of suspects involved in the bombing of a mosque in Asir province in August, Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry said on Friday.
Said Ayed Saeed al-Deir al-Shahrani, 46, was identified among the dead, State news agency SPA quoted an interior ministry spokesman as saying.
The raid targeted suspected Islamic State (ISIS) fighters outside the holy city of Mecca.
