Referral Program Treats 84 Life Saving Cases

Saudi’s Ministry of Health has referred 4,490 patients through the referral Ehalati program.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has referred 4,490 patients through the referral (Ehalati) program, including 84 life saving cases during the past seven days.

The “Ehalati’” program is described as one of the new e-programs carried out by the Ministry of Health.

Advantages of the program are numerous, including providing medical counseling among physicians in the various medical facilities to study the health situation of the patient without the need for transferring him.

The program aims at unifying the adopted measures on patient referral among health facilities at all levels throughout the Kingdom’s regions, as well as referring the patient automatically between the levels of the medical service in record time based only on the patient’s health situation and the objective medical opinion.

The advantages of Ehalati include providing medical counseling among the physicians in various medical facilities to study the patient’s case without the need for transferring him.

It also provides all logistic coordination requirements to refer the patient from one medical facility to another.

In addition, it provides an archiving and statistical system, which contains information of the referred patients in the Kingdom’s hospitals.

Suleiman bin Ahmad Al-Sharie, supervisor of the Ehalati program oat the ministry, explained that efforts are exerted to improve Ehalati at the level of the ministry’s headquarters and health affairs directorates in regions and provinces.

Meanwhile, Al-Sharie revealed that out of the referred cases, 2,835 cases (amounting to 63.1 percent ) were approved immediately.
