Kuwait asks passengers to provide certificates showing they are virus-free

Dozens of airlines scaled back or halted flights to China in January as the Coronavirus outbreak that causes COVID-19 gained steam in the country, with people reluctant to travel and governments erecting travel restrictions.

Kuwait’s civil aviation authority said on Tuesday passengers from 10 countries including India, Turkey and Egypt must produce certificates issued by the Kuwaiti embassy in their country saying they are Coronavirus free.

Passengers who do not provide the certificates will not be allowed into Kuwait, the aviation authority said on Twitter.

Governments have come under mounting pressure to help support businesses as the outbreak disrupts the economy.
