Two-week lockdown and airport shutdown in Lebanon airport over Virus

Lebanon will also close all non-essential public institutions and ask that most private companies suspend work and people remain in their homes except for “extreme necessity”, the minister said.

It urged people on Sunday to stay at home for two weeks in a bid to stem a novel Coronavirus outbreak that has infected at least 99 people and killed three.

The airport, borders, and ports to be shut down temporarily from Wednesday until March 29 as part of a state of health emergency to combat Coronavirus, Lebanon’s information minister said on Sunday.

People should not leave home except in circumstances of “extreme necessity” and the international airport will close from Wednesday to March 29, Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad said.
