Saudi Arabia stays unbeaten

Saudi Arabia rallied from a goal down to beat the United Arab Emirates 2-1 in Jeddah to maintain their unbeaten run.

After Ahmed Khalil had put the visitors ahead in the 18th minute, Mohamed al-Sahlawi equalized for the Saudis on the stroke of half-time before scoring from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to grab a brace.

Elsewhere in the tournament South Korea secured a narrow 1-0 win over Kuwait, while Uzbekistan thrashed Bahrain 4-0.

Only the winners of the group automatically progress to the next stage of qualification, where 12 teams will compete for four spots in Russia in three years’ time.
