Riyadh reiterates support to Hadi

Yemen’s President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Sunday urged Houthi militias to lay down their arms and resume dialogue to end the conflict, as he left for the UN General Assembly.
“I am open to all efforts seeking a political solution,” Hadi said in a letter addressed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
Hadi also called on rebels “to end their coup, surrender weapons … and return to the dialogue table, to implement the UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
In his reply, the king congratulated Hadi on his return to Aden and pledged support to the internationally-recognized president.
“We in the coalition stand firmly, with all our strength, by your side… to protect your country,” the king said. He added: “Your triumphant return … reflects what has been achieved in victory and the ability of legitimate Yemeni forces with the support of the valiant Popular Resistance to speed up the process of liberating and clearing Yemen from the clutches of Houthi militias and their allies … in spite of haters and plotters.”
