Riyadh hospital hosts grand event to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day

As part of a strategy to encourage and motivate its multinational workforce, the Saudi German Hospital in Riyadh has been maintaining for several years the tradition of celebrating the national days of their countries each year.

The practice was also aimed at increasing harmony among employees belonging to various communities.

On Aug. 14, the hospital organized an elaborate function at its auditorium to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day.

The function was a true representation of the colors of Pakistan and an effort to introduce a different culture to the people of Saudi Arabia and fellow employees of various nationalities.

Human Resources Manager Muhammad Salam Khan organized the celebrations in coordination with his Pakistani colleagues in different departments of the hospital.

The function started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by a message of congratulations from the higher management represented by Abdel Fatah Hasanain, chief executive officer.

He wished the Pakistani employees of the hospital as well as the community in general on their country’s Independence Day.

This was followed by spectacular cultural performances showing the cultural diversity of Pakistan. Young children dancing to the tunes of patriotic songs wowed the audience.

Then a thought-provoking skit highlighting the problems of the common man was presented with the full participation of all Pakistani employees of the hospital.

A documentary showing the achievements and the natural beauty of Pakistan was also screened. A folk dance performed by staff members in traditional costumes added to the excitement of the audience.

The auditorium was packed with people of various nationalities and the hospital management recognized the efforts of the organizers and performers.

At the end of the function, the CEO and other representatives of the higher management expressed their appreciation and distributed certificates and gifts to the performers.

The guests were served refreshments and the program ended on a happy note.

“The event was part of Saudi German Hospital’s to provide its employees with healthy and entertaining activities so that they feel they are in a family,” said one of the organizers.
