Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone to Saudi King Salman on Wednesday, updating him on the results of a visit to Moscow by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Kremlin said, the Interfax news agency reported.
“Putin continued discussing the issue of Syria,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. “The Russian leader informed the monarch about the results of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Russia.”
