RIYADH — Maj. Gen. Abdul Rahman bin Saad Al-Shahrani (Abu Jarfah), commander of the18th Brigade of the Land Forces, was martyred on Sunday when he was shot by indiscriminate fire from across the southern borders, the Saudi Armed Forces announced in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
According to the statement, Al-Shahrani was inspecting his units along the front lines when fire was opened at him.
The statement said Al-Shahrani sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he died.
“Al-Shahrani lost his life in the field of honor and patriotism defending his religion, king, homeland and citizens,” the Armed Forces said.
