King Abdullah II of Jordan said February 4, 2018 that the United States remains essential to any hope of a peaceful solution between Israel and the Palestinians, despite widespread criticism of the new US stance on Jerusalem. "We cannot have a peace process or a peace solution without the role of the United States," the monarch said on the CNN program "Fareed Zakaria GPS."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday preparations were under way for King Abdullah of Jordan to visit Russia, Russian news agencies reported.
Peskov was commenting on an announcement by Jordan, which said the monarch would visit Russia on Thursday and hold talks with President Vladimir Putin about the situation in Syria.
