Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi signed an agreement to establish the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council to oversee the initiatives and the preparation of agreements between the two countries.  This came to fruition due to the participation of President al-Sisi in the fourth Arab-Latin American summit in Riyadh.
King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and President al-Sisi expanded on a session of talks attended by the delegations of the two countries.
Ambassador Alaa Youssef, spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed President al-Sisi, stressing the strength and durability of the close brotherly relations between the two nations.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques emphasised the need to continue consulting and coordinating between the Kingdom and Egypt in order to achieve the interests of the Arab and Islamic nations, stressing that Kingdom is keen to strengthen cooperation with Egypt in various fields.
President al-Sisi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz for the warm reception and excellent organization of the summit, wishing the Kingdom and its people every success.
Egyptian Ambassador Alaa Yousef said that the talks dealt with the follow-up implementation of the existing bilateral cooperation frameworks between the two countries, as well as various regional issues, and developments in the region. The two sides also agreed to continue joint coordination efforts with respect to the fight against terrorism and extremism.
The Spokesman added that the meeting saw a confirmation of the importance of counter attempts to interfere in the affairs of Arab countries, and the vigilance of the efforts aimed to sow discord and division among brotherly nations.  Both states aim to preserve and strengthen the collective Arab regime in the face of attempts to weaken it. The positions of the two countries is in agreement with methods of confronting the challenges that are facing the Middle East.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of the establishment of the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council and the implementation of the Cairo Declaration which was signed by two foreign ministers at the ceremony.  The declaration represents the historical links between the two countries and reflects their alliance.
Ambassador Alaa Yousef said that the joint coordination between the two countries’ Council will oversee the provision of initiatives, the preparation of agreements, the understanding of the Cairo Declaration, and to follow up its implementation.
