Hundreds of Houthi & Pro-Saleh fighters captured

The commander of the Border Guards in Asir, Brig. Gen. Safar bin Ahmad Al-Ghamdi, said Saudi forces defeated a number of Houthi militias and forces affiliated with deposed President Ali Abdullah Saleh and captured hundreds of fighters.
Al-Ghamdi said Saudi forces achieve a new goal every day on the southern border by targeting enemy movements and dealing with them through missile launchers, tanks and Apache helicopters.
He said the enemy has incurred heavy losses both materially and in human lives. Pre-emptive strikes, which are made with the help of intelligence information and reconnaissance teams, confuse the enemy and prevent them from entering Saudi territory.
He said the Kingdom isn’t the aggressor and Saudi forces can enter Yemeni territory easily but the mission is to secure the borders against anyone who tries to undermine Saudi sovereignty.
Al-Ghamdi said that hundreds of Houthis are fighting in groups. Some of them carry out suicide operations to win public support and raise the waning morale of their mates.
He added that the Saudi border is safe and there are many operations on these borders to further secure the land and deal with the enemy strongly.
“Al-Rabouah border center isn’t different from other border locations and our forces are ready to face any aggression, but they will not advance into Yemeni territory because their mission is to protect our land,” he said.
He said the Border Guards receive the care and attention of the Saudi government just like other military wings, to enable them to carry out their duty efficiently.
