$10 billion Saudi funds boost for Jordan trade

A 40-member Saudi trade delegation has headed for Amman to participate in the Jordanian-Saudi Economic Forum, which concludes on Thursday.
The delegation headed by Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Oudeh, head of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council (SJBC), will also take part in the eighth meeting of the joint Saudi-Jordanian business council.
They will attend a presentation of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) on investment opportunities in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and also hold bilateral meetings with Jordanian businessmen and entrepreneurs.
They will also call on Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah, SPA reported.
Members of the Saudi delegation and their Jordanian counterparts are scheduled to discuss trade and investment opportunities as well as measures to take bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Al-Oudeh said the visit comes in conjunction with the 15th session of the Joint Saudi-Jordanian Committee.
JCC President Nael Kabariti said the forum provides a new opportunity to enhance economic relations between the two kingdoms and improve communication between the private sectors of the two countries.
“The forum provides a ground to exchange views on obstacles facing investments in the two countries,” he added.
He said that the infusion of $10 billion by Saudi entrepreneurs in Jordan’s business sectors is a positive move that will contribute to development, thus creating more job opportunities for Jordanians.
Kabariti added that the 15th joint Jordanian-Saudi committee began its meeting on Wednesday, which aims to boost bilateral cooperation.
Industry, Trade and Supply Ministry Spokesman Yanal Barmawi said the event also marks the holding of a meeting of its technical committee to discuss all matters related to enhancing bilateral cooperation through the economic, services and other sub-committees.
