Virtual G20 leaders summit next week in Saudi Arabia

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia said it would convene a virtual summit next week bringing together the leaders from the Group of 20 major economies (G20) to address the Coronavirus pandemic.

G20 leaders will put forward a coordinated set of policies to protect people and safeguard the global economy, the Saudi secretariat said in an emailed statement without specifying a date.

Saudi Arabia registered 38 new infections to take the total to 171. The kingdom has taken drastic steps to combat the outbreak, including suspending the Umrah pilgrimage, halting all international flights, and closing schools and most public establishments.
